Walk-in crisis services are also available for immediate support.

Brief Treatment Model

At Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), we use a brief counseling treatment model that is time-limited and focused on helping students achieve specific goals or make desired changes.

For students receiving individual counseling, most concerns can typically be addressed within 8-10 sessions. To ensure we can provide support to as many students as possible, individual sessions are generally scheduled every other week.

If a student requires long-term or intensive support beyond what our brief counseling model offers, our counselors will provide a referral to appropriate community resources for ongoing treatment.

Service Limitations

Our center primarily offers short-term counseling.

For long-term therapy, specialized treatment, or medication management, we provide referrals to external providers.

Due to the nature of our brief treatment model, we cannot provide Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Letters.
